Crunchyroll has announced that an anime series of the Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is coming to its streaming service in 2027. The anime is a co-production between Crunchyroll, Aniplex, Sony Music, and PlayStation Productions. More details about the anime’s staff and voice cast will be revealed in the future.
Takanobu Mizuno (Star Wars: Vision “The Duel” director) will be directing the anime adaptation, with Gen Urobuchi (Psycho-Pass, Thunderbolt Fantasy) credited with the story composition and Kamikaze Douga handling the animation production. Sony Music is serve as the strategic music and soundtrack partner for the series. The announcement was made as part of Sony Group Corporation’s CES press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The original Ghost of Tsushima video game was first released by Sucker Punch Productions on the PlayStation 4 on July 17, 2020, with the PlayStation 5 version being released on August 20, 2021 and on PC on May 16, 2024. The multiplayer co-op game Ghost of Tsushima: Legends was released on October 16, 2020. A sequel titled Ghost of Yōtei was announced in September 2024 with and will be released on the PlayStation 5 in 2025.
Synopsis:
