An anime adaptation of The Water Magician (Mizu Zokusei no Mahoutsukai) light novels has been announced with a July 2025 premiere window and a trailer. The latter previews its main cast (minus the voice-acting) and ends with a cut of water animation.
Delicious in Dungeon assistant director Hideyuki Satake is directing the series, which is a Typhoon Graphics and Wonderland co-production. Jun Kumagai (TEPPEN! Laughing ’til You Cry – Comedy) is handling the series composition, while Yuka Kozutsumi (Love Live! Superstar!! Season 3 Episode 8 and 12 co-animation director, Episode 10 dance part co-animation director) is the character designer.
Ayumu Murase is voicing the main protagonist Ryo. Also announced were Kazuki Ura as Abel and Kaede Hondo as Sera. The series started in 2021, after the 2020 debut of the original Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel. Nokito was the illustrator at the start, with the role later going to Mebaru for a time. The current illustrator is Hana Amano. Part 2 Volume 5 of the series will be released on January 15, 2025.
Synopsis:
