The A Wild Last Boss Appeared! TV anime adaptation has received a teaser trailer and teaser visual, along with details like its October 2025 premiere window, main staff, and main cast. Ami Shimizu is the voice of MMO character Lufas Maphaahl while Ari Usui is Lufas’ self-proclaimed loyal advisor Dina.
Yuya Horiuchi (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club Season 2 assistant director) is directing the show at WOW WORLD with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Flower and Asura) as series composer and Maiko Ebisawa (Love Live! Superstar!! Season 3 Episode 8 co-dance part animation director) as character designer. Takashi Kobayashi and Shota Ueno are sub-character designers.
A Wild Last Boss Appeared! is based on the Earth Star Novel light novel series written by Firehead and illustrated by YahaKo, which saw nine volumes released between 2016 to 2019. The light novels also inspired a manga adaptation by Tsubasa Hazuki. The original Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel version of the story started in 2015.
Synopsis:
The year is 2800 and Lufas Maphaahl The Black-Winged Tyrant, Great Conqueror, and leader of the Twelve Heavenly Stars has returned. A man wakes up in the body of his MMO character 200 years after her defeat during an player-made event in the game, Exgate Online. Now, he’s stuck in her body. But this isn’t a game, it’s real. With her reign long over, and her legacy one of fear, Lufas must journey through the world of Exgate, looking for answers, possible comrades, and all the monsters her “death” unleashed upon the world.
