Toho has unveiled a new teaser trailer and key visual for the upcoming My Hero Academia Final Season TV anime series during AnimeJapan 2025. The new eighth season was announced shortly after the end of season seven on October 12, 2024 and is expected to premiere in Japan in October 2025, as confirmed in the trailer.

The first My Hero Academia season premiered in 2016 and has inspired several seasons, with the seventh season beginning its broadcast in May 2024. Bones has handled the animation production for all seasons so far.

Season seven’s main production staff included Kenji Nagasaki (returning, director of the first three seasons) as chief director, Naomi Nakayama (Koikimo; Orange chief director; My Hero Academia Episode 78, 83, and 87 storyboard artist, My Hero Academia Episode 64 director) as director, and Yuki Hayashi (returning) as music composer. Yoshihiko Umakoshi (returning) and Hitomi Odashima are serving once again as the character designers for the series.

Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga series was serialized from Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from July 7, 2014 to August 5, 2024. A total of 42 tankobon volumes were released. My Hero Academia has also inspired several manga spinoffs, novels, video games, stage plays, art and guidebooks, and four anime films. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series and films worldwide, outside of Japan.
