DAN DA DAN Season 2 on July 2025

 A new key visual, cast member, and theatrical screening plans have been revealed for the upcoming second season of DAN DA DAN. Season two is expected to begin airing in Japan on July 3, 2025. The second season also includes a small directorial change, with Abel Gongora (Scott Pilgrim Takes Off) joining season one director Fuga Yamashiro as co-director. Both directors will be featured in an exclusive interview that will be included in the global theatrical screenings. 

 GKIDS also announced, in partnership with MBS, ADN, and Muse, a global theatrical premiere for the second season DAN DA DAN. The first three episodes of season two will be screened outside of Japan under the title DAN DA DAN: EVIL EYE. It will screen in Asia via Muse on May 30, 2025, in North American theaters on June 6, 2025 from GKIDS, and in European theaters from ADN on June 7, 2025. Overall, it will be screened in over 50 countries and regions, with further release details to be announced later in the future, in collaboration with the theatrical premiere partners in each region.

Other staff involved with season two include Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, Naoyuki Onda (MF Ghost and Inuyashiki) as character designer, Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho character designer) as alien and yokai designer, Satoshi Hashimoto (Spy x Family Season 1) and Makiho Kondo (“Tokyo Clone” music video) as color designers, Junichi Higashi (Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2) as background art director, Kazuto Izumita (Great Pretender) as composting director, and Kensuke Ushio (Tengoku Daimakyou, The Heike Story). Science SARU is in charge of the animation production.  

The first season aired for 12 episodes during the Fall 2024 anime season. Crunchyroll also announced today that the first season was nominated for Anime of the Year and is now available to watch for free on the streaming service. The anime is based on the sci-fi occult manga series by Yukinobu Tatsu, which debuted on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ on April 6, 2021 and has released 19 tankobon volumes as of April 2025.
